About Marisa

Associate Certified Coach (ACC)
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

I love connecting with people, sharing space and energy, hearing their stories, listening with my heart and mind, holding their stories as sacred and helping them move towards more peace, fulfillment and strength. I love the feeling when a client's eyes light up as they internalize something they just said or heard; something shifts about their own self-awareness or identity in the world. It's so meaningful and I always feel privileged to be a part of that process for someone. It's an enormous honor to hold someone in this way.

My career has been dedicated to serving others, particularly marginalized populations. I spent the first decade of my career working with immigrant and refugee communities in the US and around the world. My work ranged from helping immigrants legalize their status & immigrate family members to managing refugee resettlement programs which provided basic necessities and mental health support to those fleeing persecution.

The second decade of my career was spent as a Spanish/English bilingual child & family therapist (Licensed Clinical Social Worker). I worked in Brooklyn & most recently in Oakland serving Latino families in community mental health clinics.

The arc that connects each phase of my career is helping others move towards positive change in their lives. My work as a Professional Coach is a continuation of that arc. I create a safe, empathetic space to explore challenging issues in new ways.

I bridge my deep clinical experience with a coaching framework. I bring warmth, wisdom and care to working with you. Together, we will help you realize the change you want to see in your life. Let’s get started.
